Props – Franks, Kepu and Garcia Botta should all start. Kepu is Australia’s first choice prop, I believe he is pretty much a must pick. He’ll start every game, is a regular ball carrier and has almost 100 caps for the Waratahs, enough said! Botta and Franks are consistent, they help you spend funds where more points can be scored.
Hookers – Huggett and Chiliboy Ralepelle. Chiliboy had a solid stint in Europe and a successful Currie Cup with The Sharks. The man has matured as a player and could step it up this year for a consistent starting position. Huggett will be competing for a starting spot at the Cheetahs but will most likely play from the bench.
Locks – Abbott and Wheeler have plenty of mileage under their belt, so a solid choice as back-up. Cummins is a young-gun who could earn some decent points if started.
Backrow – Schatz, Bothma, Leguizamon and I.Naisarani. Schatz and Leguizamon have a lot of experience for that perfect safe benched player or even if you want to spend the bulk of your pot elsewhere.. I personally prefer the likes of Naisarani or Bothma as they have the potential to bring out The X-factor. Bothma also averaged 30 points last year…
Scrumhalf – Cobus Reinach and S.Venter. I’ve opted for 2 South African’s who will both start. This is an area where I advise not spending too much as you won’t earn a lot form a scrumhalf on a regular basis.
Flyhalf – Jackson Garden-Bachop and Santiago González Iglesias. Jackson has huge potential and playing at the Force means he doesn’t have much competition. Santiago González Iglesias id started for the Jaguares against a weaker team could do some damage.
Centre – A.Fainga should start for The Brumbies after the departure of Matt Toomua. Tim Batemen is still the right side of 30 and has a load of experience. He probably will play off the bench though. Meakes has been playing in Gloucester and could be a regular starter as Kyle Godwin has left.
The Outside Backs (where you need to make points):
Korolbete – This Fijian could be prolific for The Rebels, Power plus Gas equals points. My only concern is he has joined The Rebels who are not the most consistent team in the competition.
Senatla – I’ve mentioned him before in my posts. If this 7’s Super Star adjusts well to the 15 man game and manages to get his hands on the ball, I predict HUGE points.
Digby Ioane- A top scorer for The Reds back in the day. I am not sure he’ll be as prolific as before but with this price tag it’s hard to not consider him, especially if you need to save some money on your third or fourth choice OBK.
C.Bosch – This guy has super skills and talent and I’ve just noticed he is starting for the Sharks this weekend. A future Springbok I have no doubt and could make some massive points.
